Maui Wedding Gone Coconuts

This past season we definitely saw our fair share of tropical pineapple centerpieces. Although - we loved the simplicity of this Hawaiian wedding centerpiece - we wanted to bring something a little more unique to the table! And alas - the coconut-inspired styled shoot was born.  Although brown is clearly not the most highly sought after color scheme for a wedding (probably won’t be Pantone’s color of the year any time soon), the coconut theme works. The coconut accents in this tropical runner was one of our favorite looks this year and if you’re really looking to kick it up a notch with your island themed wedding - the Catered Coconut will be your best friend. Fresh ice cold coconuts are always a fan favorite for any event and work well with our coconut centerpieces.

The backdrop for this styled wedding shoot was the Hale’ho’ike’ike (formerly the Bailey house) museum on Maui’s north shore. This historic Hawaiian venue has so much character. It is the perfect Maui wedding venue for groups of 50 or less. It’s definitely one of Maui’s best kept secrets and is so affordable! Another Maui secret is wedding gown designer, Koa, who created this simple but oh-so-sexy lowcut lace wedding gown that was absolutely perfect for a tropical wedding. It’s definitely “beach wedding dress meets couture” and we are here for it.

Keeping in line with the earthy look for this shoot - we stuck with bare wooden farm tables and white chiavari chairs from M&D rentals. The driftwood arch from Altered Maui added a bit of beach rustic ambiance to the set-up and the lush green backdrop that the Hale’ho’ike’ike brings was perfect to bring it all together. We hope you enjoy this tropical chic look as much as we enjoyed drinking those ice cold coconuts!

This is Hawaii wedding #goals.
