OMG!!! You’re Engaged - Now don’t forget to do these 3 things - Wedding Events in Hawaii
Woot Woot! We finally got that ring. And now the fun begins...euuuhhhh...right?
Well YEAH it does! But before you jump off that wedding bliss cliff - do these three things first before you hop along to your happily ever after planning...
1. Insure your ring
I know this is not the sexiest start to the beginning of forever - but it is the smartest. Chances are you’re not used to a hefty stone on your hand ALL THE TIME which is totally understandable. Because it’s a little foreign you may fidget with it, take it off when you wash your hands, even lose it when you’re swimming in the ocean in Hawaii like I did (yup, true story).
Moral of the story - don’t lose the first heirloom you’ll give to your kids. Insure it ASAP.
2. Make a Budget and Priority list
Knowing how much you can comfortably spend and what the most important pieces of the wedding are to the two of you are vitally important and need to happen first. I know, I know - you’d rather cruise Pinterest and TikTok for the latest trends, wedding dresses and dream venues but...if you get too far down that bunny trail before you do the basics you could fall madly in love with something that isn’t madly in love with your wallet. If you start here first it’ll give you a good jumping off point and will be a helpful guide to keep you in line throughout your planning.
The happily ever after comes after the wedding so we want to make sure you’re not setting yourself up for a nightmare the day afterward when you realize that $4,000 coffee bar wasn’t even used (but it was ohhhhh-so-cuuuuuute and you had to have it) on Pinterest.
You’ll thank us later ;)
3. Make a plan and stick to it
Forming a plan is the first big hurdle in your almost newly joined lives. There’s a lot that goes into wedding planning so having a solid plan is key and doing it together will help avoid unnecessary questions as the planning rolls along. The Curated Wedding is a great resource for brides trying to save some money and do it themselves.
If you’re feeling completely overwhelmed from the start - it might be best to seek out potential wedding planners sooner than later. The right wedding planner can actually SAVE you money (and time, effort, stress…). They’ll know what things to cut, which vendors to use and better yet, basics of what things really cost and what works and doesn’t work in your venue.
All in all - this should be the best day of your life and making sure you can actually ENJOY it is the most important factor. Make sure you keep that in mind when making any decision. If it doesn’t make your heart sing (people included) seriously consider if it really should be a part of your big day.
You got this, babe. Just take care of these few things first and the rest will be smooth sailing.
As Always - Happy Planning
